Position Overview

As a UI/UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our products, ensuring they are intuitive, visually appealing, and aligned with our mission of building the future of ocean conservation. You will collaborate closely with all teams to create user-centric designs for our marine conservation tools, and your work will contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions that redefine the landscape of ocean-tech innovation. You will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in crafting and executing strategies that enhance our global brand beyond UI & UX design!  


What you'll be doing

  • User Interface Design: Create visually compelling and intuitive user interfaces for our marine conservation tools, considering user needs, behavior, and industry best practices.

  • User Experience Design: Develop wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to enhance the overall user experience of our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of usability and accessibility. 

  • Brand Building & Consistency: Collaborate with the team to craft and enhance a unique brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communication channels. Ensure consistency in design elements and user interface patterns, contributing to the establishment and maintenance of a unique and recognizable brand identity. 

  • Generate Documentation: To make our products accessible to customers, we will provide thorough documentation through our user interface.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to bring your designs to life, iterating based on feedback and user testing.


Qualifications

  • Current enrolment in or completion of a Bachelor's or certificate program, preferably in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (but not mandatory!)

  • Strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX design projects, with an emphasis on problem-solving and user-centered design principles.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.

  • Understanding of design thinking methodologies and the ability to translate complex ideas into user-friendly interfaces.

  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills to effectively convey design rationale and decisions.

  • Experience with prototyping tools, user testing methodologies, and/or graphic design is a PLUS.

  • Passion for sustainability, ocean conservation, and emerging technologies.
